At Melius, our consultants had the opportunity to guide a strategic and challenging digitalization project for an international client in the legal sector. The objective of this project was ambitious: the implementation of a completely new, integrated system that would enable all employees to work in a uniform way, with interconnected processes tailored to the unique demands of the legal profession.

The complexity of the project lay not only in the technical aspects of the system, but especially in the diversity of stakeholders – from legal experts and administrative staff to IT and compliance – each with their own priorities and ways of working. In addition, the legal processes required a careful, customized approach, meticulously aligned with existing work routines and legal regulations.

The project was tackled in several phases:

Analysis and Requirement Gathering:
We began with a thorough analysis phase, conducting intensive discussions with stakeholders from all parts of the organization. This allowed us to map not only the functional requirements, but also the underlying expectations and concerns.

Development and Client Workshops:
During the development phase, the system was built iteratively, with regular workshops in which the client actively participated in validation and adjustment. This co-creation approach fostered strong engagement and a higher adoption rate.

Extensive Testing:
In close collaboration with key users, we conducted comprehensive testing of the system, thoroughly reviewing specific legal scenarios and exceptions.

Training:
To ensure a smooth transition, we developed an extensive training program for all employees. This focused both on the functional use of the system and the impact on their daily workflows.

The result was a future-proof platform that enables the client to work more efficiently, consistently, and transparently, with improved data quality and enhanced collaboration between teams and offices.
